SPORTS LEADERS RATED THE BEST EVER AT REGIONAL BOCCIA FINALS, March 2019

Community Sports Leaders did TLA proud at the South East regional Boccia Finals at Surrey University on 25th March. The event which included players who are part of the England squad and potentially future Paralympians was very competitive. The organiser from BOCCIA ENGLAND rated them the best that she had ever had:

“It isn’t just their officiating skills which are top draw. It is also the superb way that they interact with competitors”.

She has requested that they also officiate at the National Boccia finals in Sheffield in May. Obviously it is an honour to be asked but I suspect due to distance and studies we will have to politely decline on this occasion!

A great experience for the CSL group … many thanks also to Jonathon Harris [PGCE trainee teacher] who kindly accompanied me on the trip and gave the CSL students a guided tour of the superb sports facilities at Surrey University.

The second session took place for the Y5 MAT ACADEMY.  The youngsters were put through their paces in Basketball and Frisbee. Big thanks to Gareth Jones who led the session and taught Basketball and to Jonathon Harris who introduced the LASP youngsters to the sport of Frisbee.
